I hope this isn't too far off-topic that it upsets people, but here goes:

My company (me, in particular) are looking to hire entry-level and medium-experienced software engineers via non-traditional (career fairs, etc) avenues due to ineffective HR efforts in the past. So, I am looking to perhaps purchase resume searching from stackoverflow and/or job postings. Before I do, I was hoping a few people could chime in on whether they think this would be worthwhile.

Do you post your resume on here? Do you actively search the job listings?
